It is a artificial or can say man-made lake with an area of 3 sq. km created in 1958. This lake is situated at the foothills of the Shivalik Hills in sector 1 of Chandigarh. Sukhna lake is a must visit during Chandigarh trip, due to its structure and clean blue water.  This lake is also serves as a perfect location for jogging and walking in early morning and evening. 

In Sukhna Lake boating is available where one can enjoy boating at a very low price. This lake is also a home of several species such as fishes, cranes, ducks, migratory birds, etc. The famous Rose Garden of Chandigarh is near to this lake.
