Mount Harriet National Park

During the British Raj Mount Harriet was the summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner of the British Government. It is an ideal place for overview of the nearby islands and the sea. Mount Harriet is the highest peak in the South Andaman. Tourist guest house are present in here. The ruins of the Chief Commissioner’s bungalow can be seen there.
About 2 km far from the National Park Kalapathar, a place from where prisoners were pushed down to ravine to their death.
In this park evergreen forests you can see. About 393 plant species can be seen there in which about 74 are endemic species. Here you can also see 27 type of reptiles and amphibians species in which 12 are endemic species. Several types of Mammals can be seen there.
