Government Museum and Art Gallery has unique and fine collection of stone sculptures of Gandhara Period and is located in Sector 10 of Chandigarh territory. Here one can see the modern arts, miniature paintings, prehistoric fossils and artifacts, etc. This gallery and museum was established in 1947. 

The museum building was designed by the famous architect Le Corbusier. In this museum it has own art gallery as well as The national History museum, The national Gallery of Portraits, Chandigarh Artchitecture museum has thier own sections here.
